Please note that the museum will be closed as detailed below:

Mummy on the move!
The Egyptian gallery will be closed from the 28 April. The Mummy will reappear when the new Ancient Civilisations gallery opens on the 8 June

The Museum and Library will be closed for the RIC Members Only day.

One of the particular strengths of our Library is the range and quality of the documents that we hold. In addition to the archives of various local families, we hold records of local mining companies and a variety of other types of manuscript material including letter books, antiquarian notes and papers, maps and plans and election material. There are, in addition, over one hundred boxes of unpublished notes on various subjects.
