Our original files date from 1801 to the 1970s although earlier issues of non-Cornish titles from 1746 are also available on microfilm. Newspapers contain a wealth of information ranging from the proceedings of certain court cases to ship arrivals and departures; the sales of buildings, lands and goods; notices of bankruptcies and smuggling activities; political news, and often fascinating accounts about the drunk, disorderly and runaway apprentice.
