A Thousand Miles From Home:

A solo performance by Nigerian, UK based artist Grace Juleff.

Grace explores the story of Joseph Emidy: his journey from West Africa to Cornwall where he settled after having gained freedom from slavery in 1799. Emidy became one of the first black violinists and Britain’s first composer of the African diaspora.

This piece celebrates struggle, loss, hope and optimism.

Free, but normal museum admission prices apply
