Mummy on the move!
The Egyptian gallery will be closed from the 28 April. The Mummy will reappear when the new Ancient Civilisations gallery opens on the 8 June

The Philbrick Fine Art Gallery will be closed from 2pm for lecture preparations.

Gladiator, Alexander and King Arthur are just some of the famous Hollywood blockbusters that have costumes on display at the Royal Cornwall Museum this summer.  If you are a Russell Crowe fan the museum has costumes worn by the actor as ‘Maximus’ in the film Gladiator.  As well as costumes on show there are items you can try on; a helmet from the Gladiator film, medieval gauntlets as seen in King Arthur and a shield from the film Alexander. The exhibition, created by Pop-Up Exhibitions of Oxon features an exciting mix of film costume, props and history.

A family launch event will open Way of the Warrior on 18 June from 10am – 1pm.

Families will be able to make warrior headdresses and shields in the ‘make-and-take’ space and there will be a special warrior trail around the museum.

Exhibition runs from 18 June – 1 October 2011. Don’t miss it!
