Please note that the museum will be closing early on the following days:

Wednesday 8 September closing at 3pm.
Thursday 16 September closing at 4pm.

Sessions 10.30am-12pm and 1.30pm – 3pm
With a different theme each time these hands – on, imaginative sessions are designed to inspire our youngest visitors and their carers. Learn about the Museum’s treasures through handling objects, art and craft activities, stories, songs and rhymes.

Suitable for 2-4 year olds and their carers.
Cost £3. Pre – booking is essential. 

 

Summer Holidays

 Make and Take   Free

Come to our new 'Make and Take' space; drop in on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays for fun activities for all the family. New activity each week. 
Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 26th July - 27th August
10am - 4pm. Closed 1pm - 2pm for lunch.  

Mini Make Thursdays

Pop in for an hour and get creative.

Ancient Greeks
Thursday 5th August
Make your own clay archaelogical artefacts from Ancient Greece.

Roman Lights
Thursday 12th August
Make a decorative clay lamp just like the ones the Romans used to light their homes.

The Ornate Egyptians
Thursday 19th August
From amulets to scarabs make replica artefacts and accessories to wear like a pharaoh!

£2 per child, accompanying adult free.

Big Draw   Free

Saturday 9 October 10am - 4pm
Be part of this national event and join us in drawing, creating and making. Pencils at the ready!

A Blast from the Past     Free

Step back in time for a day of archaeology-inspired activities.

Spooky Sleepover    

Friday 29 October
7pm-9am
Spend a night at the museum and see what comes to life! Arm yourself with a torch and go exploring. With spooky storytelling and a ghostly treasure trail, this will be a scary night to remember!
