Sessions 10.30am-12pm and 1.30pm – 3pm

With a different theme each time these hands – on, imaginative sessions are designed to inspire our youngest visitors and their carers. Learn about the Museum’s treasures through handling objects, art and craft activities, stories, songs and rhymes.

Suitable for 2-4 year olds and their carers.
Cost £3. Pre – booking is essential.

Art Club

Calling all young artists. Join our friendly Saturday club and experiment with loads of art stuff using our exhibitions and collections as inspiration. Work on your own exhibition to be held in the museum in December.

Art Club is for children aged 8 years or over and runs on Saturday mornings, 10.30am – 12pm, term time only. Pre-booking essential.

Explorer backpacks

Our explorer backpacks are a great way for families to explore the museum. Pith helmets at the ready!
Cost: £1

Make do and mend Christmas

Saturday 13th December 10am – 4pm
Join in the festive fun and transport yourself back to the 1940s. Cook using rationing ingredients and make decorations on a budget.

Space Age Launch

Saturday 24th Jan 1pm – 4.30pm
Come along for an afternoon of celebration at the museum when we ‘launch’ the space age exhibition. Come in fancy dress for prizes.

Glam Rock

Saturday 14th March 10am – 4pm
Have a rocking good time at our GLAM ROCK event. Make your own rolling stone and glamorous gem. Rock On!

Drop in and meet our animal friends. Creative fun for all the family.

Thursday 9th April:  Clay creatures
Make your own clay creature inspired by the animals in the museum.

Thursday 16th April: Invent -a -beast
Mix and match animal parts to create your own beast.
