Mummy on the move!
The Egyptian gallery will be closed from the 28 April. The Mummy will reappear when the new Ancient Civilisations gallery opens on the 8 June

Workshops

The Victorians in Cornwall - New all day workshop
KS2 History
Investigate the lives of four Victorian working families in Cornwall through the medium of original artefacts and archive materials. In this exciting workshop pupils also have the chance to make a Victorian oil lamp from clay.

Victorian Schoolroom (takes place at Helston Folk Museum)
KS1&2 History
Go back in time to a village school of 1891 and experience Victorian style teaching. Use slate and slate pencils to practise handwriting and have a lesson in arithmetic using pounds, shillings and pence. Handle and investigate domestic Victorian artefacts to compare past and present.

Artefacts Loans Boxes

Victorian Household
This box contains a selection of Victorian household items including clay pipes, butter pats and a toothpaste container.

Victorian Lighting
This box contains a selection of artefacts used to light Victorian homes.

Victorian Writing
This box contains a variety of artefacts used for writing by the Victorians including quills, slates and ink pots.

All boxes come with a selection of resources and information to support their use in the classroom.
