Closures
During the year there are times when we need to close the museum or galleries to facilitate work in the galleries, set up for special events or as a result of staff shortages. It is always best to ring before a visit. We apologise for any inconvenience it may cause.
Please note that on Thursday 14th March the St Ives exhibition, Philbrick Gallery, will be closed between 11am and 3pm due to a lunchtime talk.
Access
Most of the museum and library is accessible to wheelchair users. It has ramps and a lift. Please let us know if a member of your group needs additional help. For visually impaired visitors, we have a raised map of the museum in large print and Braille. For disabled visitors the entry charge applies but if you have one or more support carers they may enter for free.
Please note that our public lift will be out of order for the week commencing Monday 18 March. This is to allow for the lift to have a major service. This means that for this week there will be no disabled access to the first floor.
Car Parking
Secure parking is available at nearby Moorfield, Pydar Street and Edward Street car parks. Disabled visitors with blue badges can park outside the front of the museum for up to 3 hours
Coach Parking
It is normally possible for coaches to drop-off directly outside the museum.
Toilets
Toilet facilities for Museum visitors are located on both floors of the museum. There are baby changing facilities on the ground and first floor and toilets for the disabled on both floors.
