The staff and volunteers are involved in a variety of exciting projects which ensures that the collections can be enjoyed  and preserved for future generations. The range of projects include Community Engagement, Museum Development, Digital Engagement, Collections Care and Management, Exhibition Development, and Workforce Development.

Major Partner Museum Programme

As part of our project with the Cornwall Museums Partnership our project funded through Arts Council England’s Major Partner Museum programme has just completed its first year with a focus on a community engagement arts project, digitisation, and special exhibition development. A video of our work as part of the arts project ‘- Behind the Story’ can be enjoyed here.

In 2014, we were successfully awarded a grant from the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund to improve the access to and care of our photographic collection.

Thanks to this funding, part of our collection of over 50,000 images is being digitised and re-packaged to conservation standards, so that future generations may learn and benefit from this fantastic archive. In the process we have created an online resource, which allows you to search, browse and buy images from our collection.

Search our online collection held at Mediastorehouse where you can browse, research and buy images from our photographic collection
