Things are Changing at Royal Cornwall Museum

Reflecting Back Whilst Looking Ahead

We have created a brand new report which documents some of the work our team have delivered over the last year, combined with our new vision and ambitious forward plan.

You can view the report here

The Next Five Years Are Critical

The next five years will be crucial to the success of the Royal Institution of Cornwall and we are grateful for the extraordinary support of Arts Council England through Cornwall Museums Partnership, Cornwall Council, and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

This report is a thank you and a call to action to our partners, members, and communities. This is an exciting next phase of our journey, and we need your continued support to make it happen.

I have already written to the Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhoods ( which includes culture) at Cornwall Council about the withdrawal of funding.

I have today received a letter re writing to my MP regarding this issue. What perplexes me is the statement that the withdrawal of funding by Cornwall Council will lead to the imminent closure of the Museum and Library. What is the effect of Cornwall Councils removal of funding on Arts Council funding and Lottery funding.

More information will enable supporters to argue a case to reinstate funding .

    Your sincerely,

    Keith Hambly-Staite
