Museum Club

Do you love museums?  Are you aged between 8 and 14 years?
If so, the RCM Museum Club may be just the thing for you!

Museum Club gives young visitors the chance to delve deeper into the treasures of the museum.  Discover more about the collections and exhibitions, through a range of activities including object handling, art and craft making, and creative writing.  Explore the historical, the beautiful and the weird and wonderful!

 

Museum Club monthly sessions are now held on Saturday afternoons.
1.30pm- 3.30pm

Autumn Term Themes 2019

Saturday 28th September- 3D Faces

Create 3D portraits inspired by the ‘Face to Face’ exhibition, including Japanese netsuke. Plus, make a self-portrait in clay.

Saturday 19th October- Mystery Objects

Today we’ll be investigating some of the more unusual artefacts in the museum collections and working out their uses. (Hopefully!) Then, design some new gadgets! 

Saturday 9th November– Egyptian Hieroglyphs

Explore the wonderful symbols and pictures of the Ancient Egyptians.  See images and artefacts up close and create a personalised picture on papyrus.

Saturday 14th December- Seasons Greetings

In the run up to the festive celebrations we’ll be making all sorts of special decorations and gifts, including wrapping paper, cards and garlands. Play some traditional Christmas games and see gifts from the past.
